Saturday Surprise!

Reesie Cup here for your Saturday Surprise announcement!

Those of you that follow us on Instagram have probably figured out the BIG surprise!  And those on Facebook have seen the photos!!  But now, I get to make the official declaration!!!

We have a new OFFICIAL pack member!!!
Please meet Zena!
She is my favorite sister cause she lets me be the boss!

Mama calls Zena the "Wal-Mart" puppy cause that is where we rescued her.  She came to live with us one week before Mama lost her job.  We have tried to find her a new home, but it looks like she is meant to be a pack member!

And this is one of her bestest talents!  She loves to jump into the sink and investigate!
Here I am, making sure she doesn't get into even more trouble!
  Zena is quite the adventurer!

Zena is around 5 1/2 months old, so she will probably be one of the smallest pack members.  She was supposed to be a lab/basset hound mix.  Trust me, as a labradork mix myself, I can assure you there is dork in there!  Just not sure what else!

And Zena has a temper!  But she has gotten a lot better in the past couple of months.  When she was first brought home, we would let her watch "Dexter" with us.  Probably should have kept it straight Disney.

Sometimes we call her "El Diablo" cause she can be so mean!  Zena El Diablo!  But Mama says she needs a proper middle name.  We just haven't found one yet.

We will post some puppy pics of the Z later.  She got to meet all the recently re-homed pack members and got along with them all just great.

One of the main reasons we brought Zena home was because she is brindle colored and looked so much like Jack.  We knew that Jack's time was short and thought it would be a good way to honor him.  We never really planned on keeping her...at least at first.  And we called many rescues, but most are full and mutts have a harder time being taken in...not that we care what Z is.

She is now one of us!

Her nicknames are ZZ, and Topper...for ZZ Top!  LOL!  Mama is an 80's girl!

So, please...everyone take a moment to say hello to Zena!  We love her very much and are glad she's "finally in her forever home"!!!!

Throwback Thursday!

In honor of our upcoming big announcement coming Saturday, we thought a few throwback pictures (and updates on past pack members) were in order!!!

T-Bone was re-homed about a month ago.  He is currently in an East Tennessee Border Collie Rescue home.  And he is doing great!

This is our Maxi-Doodle Butt.  He and CoCo were litter mates we adopted from a "free to good home" ad.  Doodle crossed the bridge at the age of 5 due to seizures.  We still honor his memory and miss him very much.  It will be 5 years in November.
Of course, this is our Jack!  He was our first baby, also adopted from a "free to good home", when he was 6 months old.  Jack had been abused and posed many problems for us throughout the years.  But we never gave up on our gruff old man.  Jack left us almost 1 month ago due to his cancer.  He was 13 years and 7 months old.  We miss him every single day.
 And he had big teeth!!!
Above is Bella and below is Jedi.  Both were re-homed to a wonderful friend who lives close to Nashville.  Jedi is Mya Boo Boo and Koova's son.  He is 6  years old and very much a lover.
Bella was adopted from MUSH rescue 4 years ago at the age of 5.  She is a total lover and doll baby!  She and Jedi always got along great.  It broke our hearts to re-home 3 of our beloved babies, but after losing my job, I didn't know if I would even have a home.  And you cannot live under a bridge with 8 big dogs.  So, I reached out to people I know and trust.  And I don't regret my decision because everyone is so happy.  Plus, I get updates on a regular basis.

Our final picture is of Koova Bleu.  He was our first husky, rescued from a backyard breeder for about $40.  He was the joy of our life, along with Jack, CoCo, and Doodle for the longest time.  I actually adopted Mya Boo Boo because of our love for Koova and the husky breed.
Mya and Koova fell madly in love and produced one unplanned litter of 7 puppies.  All beautiful and healthy.  But Mya had a very hard time with delivery, plus we didn't want any more puppies to be born, so she was spayed.  We kept Jedi.
Koova crossed the bridge at the age of 3.  We were in the process of moving, and he was crated.  He choked on something in his crate and we didn't find him until it was too late.  It almost destroyed us...Doodle died just 3 months later.

So, this is our throwback Thursday.  It's a chance to reminisce with some old blog followers and a chance for the new folks to know a little of our history.

As with anything, life has its challenges and heartaches...but also has it moments that make you want to soar to the moon!  With the previous blog, we shared all those moments with you and look forward to many, many more adventures.  Hopefully, soaring ones.

Ninja Cat Tuesday!

What is a Ninja Cat, you ask?
Me!  I is da Ninja Cat! (plays dramatic music for effect)

My name is Salem Marie...But I prefer Ninja Cat!...or just SaySay.
I is 3 years old.  I is much smaller than my BIG sister Sophie...but don't tell her I said that.  She is sensitive.
But I cause a whole lot more excitement!

See, I is not afraid of anything!  I play wif the doggies...even the Siberian one.  I chase any mices that might come to visit...but I haven't figured out what to do wif them...so I usually let them go.
 I'm a Ninja...I jumps...I runs...and I leaps onto tall furnitures!  I needs a superhero cape!
Sometimes, I do like to cuddle wif the sister...when she lets me.
I love my Mommy soooooooo much!  Sometimes I sleep on her chest, just to make sure she can't roll over and fall off the bed!  Hey, it's happened!  So don't laugh!
Then there is the OCD...yes, I am a little obsessive about my furs...MUST...BE...CLEAN...AT...ALL...TIMES.

Overall, I is a good girl...well, except when I knock stuffs off the dressers...or pee on Mommy's bed.  But I only pees when I is mad!  Good thing da bed has a waterproof diaper on it.  :)

So, dis is me.  Ninja Cat.  Just remember...if you see a dark shadow creeping around you at night...well, it's not me unless you is in mah house!  So you bestest run fur covers!
Meows,

Salem,
Ninja Cat
