Happy 9th Birthday to Mya Boo Boo!

Happy birthday to my beautiful girl, Mya!  She is 9 wonderful years young today!
I cannot begin to tell you the love I have for my husky girl.  She is stubborn...so very stubborn!  She loves to run outside and hates to come back in...and she loves to ride in the car...she has brought me so much joy.

Here is a photo of her back in 2007...she was just a little thing back then!  But she grew into such a beautiful girl.

She loves her various positions as most huskies do...she stays by my side almost all the time and can be very jealous of the other girls.

I am just thankful.  Very thankful for the chance to love such a fantastic girl and look forward to as many more years as God will allow.

Happy birthday Mya!  Mama loves you!

The sweetness of Sophie!

My name is Sophie...actually it is Sophia Belle.  But Mommy only calls me that when I'm a bad kitty....so, hardly ever!
Today's post is ALL about me!  I am so excited to tell everyone all about my life as a Painter Pack member!

I was born on April 30th of 2010.  Mommy knows this because she got me from a friend of hers...I was on my way to the pound and Mommy couldn't stand that...so I became hers!
I came to live with Mommy and the Pack at a very difficult time in their lives.  We were in a furry bad living situation. Almost dangerous.  So maybe that is why I am such a skittish kitty.
When I was 6 months old, Mommy left this horrible situation...I was supposed to be taken care of for a few days during the move, but some evil person threw me outside where I had to fend for myself.
Mommy didn't know this...she thought I was safe.  When she found me, I was scared and dirty, having lived under the house for over a week.  I know this is a normal life for a lot of kitties...and I am so sad for them.
At the time, I had a brother named Riley Kat...He was a few months older and Mommy had come to love him and tried to take him with us.  But the evil person hid him and we could never find him.  Mommy drove by that house for weeks, trying to find him.  But never did.  We found out that Riley Kat passed away this past spring...He suffered a horrible life...all because of that evil person.  But, he knew love...even if it was for a short time.  Mommy and I still miss him.
 But more about me!

I am part Norwegian Forrest Cat!  This means I am a big girl!  I weigh 12 pounds!  But I am all love!  I am very shy....
I have a fear of men, which is a result of my being mistreated by the evil person...but I do love my hooman brother...but I like him best when he sits down...cause he is sooooo tall!

I get along good wif the doggies...me and the Siberian are close pals.

I also like to help Mommy when she is working!

I am just a lump of fur and loving!  I think I would prefer to be an only child...but, that's not going to happen.  I have a kitty sister and three doggie sisters.
I love them all, but I like it when it is quiet...just me and Mommy.  She knows just how to rub all the right places!  I always sleep on her bed...or on her. I hardly ever leave the bedroom.

So this is me!  I love my family and my family loves me!  I am glad that Mommy and hooman brother never left me behind and fought to keep me safe.

I am not much for playing and the normal cat antics...I prefer to just be a quiet kitty...I like looking out my window and laying on my window shelf that Mommy put up for me.

Please take a moment and love on your kitties and doggies!  Remember that they are a gift to be cherished!  Cause that is what I am!  Purrrrsssss!!!!

The Heart

Another year passes...we never forget your birthday.  It's a day that was important for so many years.  Yesterday, November 1, 2015 our boy Jack would have been 15.  To me, that is not old at all.  If cancer had not entered his body, he would have been a robust senior!

2
But, it did.  And we lost you much too soon...June of 2014.

We try not to be sad when we think of you...instead, we laugh at things you did or might have done now if you were still with us.  Like barking at the UPS person!  No one got past your ears, even in your last days.  Jack, you are still missed and still very much loved.  I hope our words reach you in Heaven...I hope you are there with Koova and Doodle, and even Riley Cat, having a blast.  Let them know that they are not forgotten either.

When you love someone with your whole heart, that never changes.  The ache lessens...the sadness dims...but the love never leaves.  That is why we love with the most powerful and life-sustaining part of our bodies.  The Heart.

Forever in our hearts...

My little "Helpers": Saturday Edition

Sophie: Shhhhhh...don't tell Mommy that I am watching her!  I'm making sure she is doing her job the right way!

It looks like a hard job!  So I'm right here if she needs some kitty assistance!

Even if she doesn't think I'm paying attention, I really am.  That's what we kitties do!
Mya Boo Boo:  Whatever tubs!  We all know that this Siberian girl is the real one in charge!  It's my world and I just allow you to live in it!  Plus, I really like those little cat treats you get.

Mommy likes it when I am keeping her company.  She says it helps her do her job much better!

Stare-off!!!

Mya Boo Boo:  See!  The cats fell asleep on the job!

I would never do that!

Sophie:  Does my butt look big?

Salem:  Not gonna touch that one.

 Reesie Cup:  You're all nuts!!!........

**runs away laughing**

Feline Friday Film Review!! "Jurassic World"

Hello there movie lovers!  The Painter Pack Cats are happy to announce their weekly (or as often as we can get Mommy to help us do it) movie review!!
Salem Here!  I wanted to go first because I just loved this movie with all the dinosaurs!  Of course, large cats would have been much better.  But Hollywood has to work with the talent they have, right!

My favorite parts of the movie were the Raptors!  I especially like Blue.  She was a rockstar!  And of course, she was a girl!  Now, I don't want to give anything away.  So, here is my review!!

It was very dramatic.  I liked all the loud roars and visual effects.  The story was pretty good too.  And I liked the ending a lot.  Looking forward to a sequel...So, I gave it 2 paws up!
*****************
It's my turn now.  Sophie here...and I wasn't quite as thrilled as my younger sister.  It was a good movie, but I don't like all the roars.  What I did like was T-Rex...roar and all!  Now that is a dinosaur!  True, cats would have been more exciting and visually dynamic...but there probably weren't enough cats available to do such an epic movie.  We do lead very busy lives you know.  However, I still had to give the movie 2 paws up because I really did enjoy it!

So there you have it.  The girls have spoken and each gave the summer blockbuster 2 paws up!  That is awesome! As for us humans, we REALLY liked it.  The Jurassic movies have always been a favorite in our home.  We used to have all the originals on DVD but some pup--I believe it was Jedi, back in the day, had a grand time chewing on one of them. Anyway, what I really enjoyed was the fact that there wasn't a lot of useless bad language and nudity.  Just epic dinosaurs and of course, Chris Pratt!!!  All in all, if dinosaurs are your thing, a definite must see.  So, humans give it 2 thumbs up!  Cause we have thumbs!

Hope you have enjoyed our review.  Remember, we do not own anything having to do with this movie, its makers or awesome actors.  We are just cats who love dinosaurs!!!  Rock on word...rock on!!!

Jack, we still miss you.

It has been one year since we lost our boy Jack.  He was 13 years and 7 months old.  We adopted Jack when he was around 6 months old from a "free to good home" ad.
It was the best decision ever.  Jack was a fierce dog.  He was loving and playful, but also had a temper.  And was a great guard dog.
We didn't know what we were getting into when we brought him home, but we knew he was OURS...forever.
By all accounts, Jack was a big old baby.  He loved his furry siblings, especially CoCo.  And he loved his boy-my son.  They were bonded like twins.
Then, in 2010 came the dreaded cancer.  We are thankful that it was slow growing, giving us years instead of weeks of months.  In the end, Jack's mind was still sharp, but his body gave out.  We made the decision to let him to on June 23, 2014.  He was in his home, surrounded by love.
To Jack:  My sweet boy...I will never forget you.  Ever.  You were our protector, our friend, and a love that I was never expecting.  You were stubborn and loyal.  You loved to chew on your bones and even an occasional stuffie.  And you loved your CoCo.  I know that she still misses you.  She is getting up in age now, being 11.  I dread the day when she joins you.  But until then, I promise to love her and keep her well.

Jack, if I could tell you one thing...it would be thank you.  Thank you for loving me and my son.  Thank you for protecting us during that big flood...Thank you for always guarding our doors and windows.  For making us feel so safe.  Thank you for loving us and forgiving us when we messed up.  You were our first family dog and I'm sure we made a lot of mistakes.  But you didn't hold them against us.

I know you are running free with Koova and Doodle.  I hope you boys are finally getting along better.  Remember, you are their big brother.

Thank you my sweet boy...even with your temper, you were the most gentle of giants.  I miss you each and every day.  Every single day.  I look forward to the day when we can be reunited and I rejoice in that thought.

Jack-Jack, Moose, Jackson, Samurai Jack....I love you.

Ninja Cat and the Chair!

Hi everyfurry!  Ninja Cat Salem here!  I has to show you mommy's new "office" area...whatever that means.  It has something to do with making green papers for our canned stinky goodness!  So, it meets with my approval!
Mommy heard me sharpening my nails on her new office chair and decided to put this pink cover over it...MOL!

"Mommy, do you not know better than to try and fool the Ninja Cat?"

Here is where she found me this morning.  I decided if I couldn't scratch it, I'd sleep in it!  MOL!!!  Mommy seemed amused.

"Hey!  Who turned on the lights!  I was sleeping ya know!"
"Hi, Mommy...I was real warm and comfy in your new chair!"
MOL!!!  That adorable look gets her every time!  Who can resist that face!
